A Wadi is an Arabic name for a dry riverbed that fills during the rainy season. The water is critical for nomadic tribes, so the Wadi becomes a gathering place for people to share resources.

Inspired by this, Wadi are creating a hub where a community of experts come together with companies to share their expertise in an affordable way, to help build resilience across all uk businesses and to help companies make savings by reducing carbon.

With this idea in mind, we created a visual identity that draws from the key elements of a Wadi - water, desert and the eco system that surrounds these pools of life. The outcome is an ode to the flourishing oasis a wadi provides for humans, animals and nature, a community where everyone comes together and shares the resources equally.

Logo

The logo uses a unique element within the ‘W’ that symbolise water ripples and pools. This connects with the aim of Wadi, to become a pool of knowledge for SMEs and to send ripples through the industry to disrupt the landscape and change the path for SMEs.

Colour

The primary colours feature soft, natural tones that have a connection with the features that make up a wadi and the environment that they can be associated with. The blue and teal tones hint to the blue skies and water that flow through the valleys, the light biege tones hint to the dry, sandy landscapes that run alongside the flowing waters of a wadi.

Imagery

The Wadi imagery aims to be inspirational and impactful to grab peoples attention and to draw on peoples heart strings, to build a connection to the planet and the natural world around us.

Each image or texture symbolises a wadi and the elements that make these pools of life, bringing into reality the idea that the Wadi platform is the hub of all sustainable resources.
